Both tours are priced at $2,250 MXN per person (including taxes and service). *Prepayment and reservations are required to ensure attendance, as our culinary team prepares each pairing a day in advance.

LONG DESCRIPTION:

We present four Mexican wine labels from different regions. In each of these regions, a study of traditional dishes was conducted, identifying between 8 and 13 dishes per region. However, only 2 or 3 dishes harmonized perfectly with the selected wines, making the pairing process even more challenging.

Our culinary team embraced the task of selecting one of these dishes, most of which are street food or homemade recipes passed down through generations in Mexican families. These dishes, often only known by walking through the streets of each region, have been elevated to a professional level, creating a gourmet experience worthy of our discerning guests.

During the activity, participants are guided through a professional and highly effective wine-tasting process, opening their eyes to a completely different perspective on wine. At the end of the tour, they receive a personalized certificate with their name, signed by both the restaurant’s chef and the sommelier who led them through the experience. This certificate certifies that they have learned and developed the basic techniques and skills necessary to taste wine with a heightened level of expertise.

OUR SOMELIER STORY:

Aarón Alvarez Arellano – Sommelier

Originally from Mexico City, I bring 20 years of experience in food and beverage within the Riviera Maya and international cruises. For the past 15 years, I’ve dedicated myself to the world of wine as a sommelier, honing my expertise through mentorships and training that have fueled my passion for this profession. As part of a second-generation hotelier family, I inherited sales skills from my mother, who worked in timeshares, and discipline from my father, who held key roles in renowned hotels such as Sheraton and Westin. I’ve worked my way up in various hotels, from all-inclusive to luxury 5-star Forbes-rated properties.

I’ve been honored with notable achievements, including two gold medals at the Mexico Selection by CMB and recognition by Sommelier Business as one of the top 9 sommeliers in Latin America to collaborate with. I also contributed to the wine and pairing guide edited by renowned critic Marco Beteta, alongside culinary icons like Mikel Alonso and René Rentería.

Currently, I serve as Cluster Wine Director at Conrad Tulum Rivera Maya, where I’ve been part of the pre-opening team, helping to establish one of Mexico’s top hotel platforms.
